His mother had a passion for antiques, and he would go on her “scavenger hunts” for them, learning about quality and the importance of detail along the way. An aesthetic person, David carried this insight into a commitment to excellence with the lighting company he founded in the 1980s. With an infectious enthusiasm for the intersecting worlds of art, business, and design, David’s entrepreneurial spirit led to nearly four decades of growth and recognition for his company, Hudson Valley Lighting, and the companies he acquired and revived in the early 2000s: Corbett Lighting and Troy Lighting.
